Eclipse Arrowhead has grown out of a number of EU projects addressing the usage of IT technology in industrial automation and digitalisation.
The first open source release was in 2016. The project joined Eclipse foundation and became Eclipse Arrowhead in 2020.
The Arrowhead Framework development has so far been supported by a large number of projects, prominent examples are: Arrowhead, Arrowhead Tools, Productive 4.0, EMC2, Far Edge, Opti, MANTIS.
