In the next in our series of leaflets focusing on Eclipse Arrowhead’s industrial partners and their goals and results, we take a look at how MSI is working to meet the challenge of providing complete and reliable process datasets to improve digital manufacturing projects.

As production processes become increasingly complex we are faced with the challenge of gathering an increasingly complex array of insights in order to optimize manufacturing. Often technology is available to enhance the digital manufacturing process but important insights that could make engineering and deployment of new solutions more efficient are lacking. Process datasets that are incomplete do not allow the control, insight and optimisation that process engineers would ideally like to have before actively intervening in the process.

MSI’s process data generator aims to provide a reliable dataset of any process or subprocess. Using a combination of historical, deterministic data with the option of adding randomised elements and disturbances the datasets can be tailored to the characteristics and needs of the required dataset. This means that process datasets can be built in a variety of ways and with multiple levels of complexity.

This project has received funding from ECSEL Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 826452. The JU receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and Norway and Switzerland.

Artemis

ARTEMIS Industry Association strives for a leading position of Europe in Embedded Intelligence. The Association is a membership organization for the European R&I actors with more than 180 members and associates from all over Europe. The multidisciplinary nature of the membership provides an excellent network for the exchange of technology ideas, cross-domain fertilisation, as well as for large innovation initiatives. As private partner in ECSEL Joint Undertaking, ARTEMIS-IA supports formation of consortia and initiation of project proposals for joint collaboration and creates the meeting place where key industry players and other R&D&I actors identify strategic high priority topics for collaborative R&I projects.
